Intercam participates in the Sailfest for the benefit of children in Zihuatanejo
As part of our activities as a Socially Responsible Enterprise, in the second week in February we contributed as sponsors of the the Sailfest Benefit Festival, in support of Por los Niños de Zihuatanejo A.C. and its more than 400 direct beneficiaries.
The event is today an annual tradition on the beaches of Zihuatanejo. Now ongoing for almost two decades, it brings together domestic and international tourists, as well as local enthusiasts and fans of water sports, art, music, gastronomy, and philanthropy so that, over the course of a week, attendees can spend time together and donate money for children’s education.
In this edition, we took part as one of the sites for ticket distribution for the Gala Night, Brunch and Concert, and sponsor of an auction by the internationally famous painter James Crespinel. Our employees also delighted guests at the Chili Cook-Off contest, where they proudly took first prize, receiving the award for Best Chili & Beans in the contest.
On this subject, Dulce María Doddoli de la Macorra, our Director and Business Representative in Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo, remarked: “I love seeing how our team gets involved in these actions, which benefit the neediest people, like the children of our city. What better than the support the education of children who will be the future of our country. Intercam is part of this community.”
At the end of the festival, the organization announced that this year it raised more than one and a half million pesos in donations, in addition to a similar amount in revenues from the event, which will go to strengthen education for the children of Guerrero in coordination with the nonprofit organization Por Los Niños de Zihuatanejo A.C.
At Intercam Banco we are concerned about social, environmental and community issues, as well as our employees. That is why our commitment as an SRE is to continue working with others to make Mexico a more inclusive country with better opportunities for all.
