According to reports by Reuters and The Washington Post, Biden`s administration is preparing a military aid package worth 750 million dollars to help Ukraine`s defense from Russia`s invasion. The package includes sending weapons and military gear, even though its contents hasn`t been fully stipulated. Since the invasion in Ukraine, the United States has provided Kyiv with close to 1,700 million dollars. Ukraine has asked Europe and the United States to increase the transfer of arms in recent weeks as Russia`s army regroups in the eastern part of the country and prepares a new offensive strategy. At the start of the week, Russian President Vladimir Putin assured that peace negotiations with Ukraine have stalled and that Russia will continue with its invasion. On the economic front of the war, Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen warned that there will be consequences for countries that don’t respect the implemented sanctions on Russia, as these seek to maintain international order and peace. Her words seek to respond to criticism made against the U.S. administration for using the dollar as a tool of war in pursuit of achieving foreign policy objectives.
